SOVEREIGNTY

SOVEREIGNTY

Indigenous tribes are the first sovereign nations on this earth. This sovereignty is of a Spiritual & Culturally inherit of our land, the ancestral tie between the land, our mother earth and the Indigenous people, who were born from, remain attached to and will return to unite with our ancestors. This spiritual link is the basis of ownership or better of sovereignty.

Whilst Indigenous history is typically handed down orally, we also have the references of our Ibbai Waggan Wiradjuri historical connection records within over 735 pages of first hand documented events within European manuscripts recording daily information, based on factual detail. These historical connection records bear witness to our existence, occupation and daily recordings of events relevant to our descendants. They commenced soon after the establishment of a colony within the Molong, Wellington & Mudgee areas and are available in the public domain.

EXTRACTS FROM HISTORICAL CONNECTION RECORDS

Declaration by our Apical Ancestor, on the 17th October 1835

Our Ibbai Waggan ancestor Gungin, a lore man declared;

What do you want here? What do you come here for? Why do you not go to your own country?

Gungin enforced our proprietary rights under ancient lore over Ngurangbang, these lores have existed for time immemorial & these rights have never been ceded.

16 November 1836

One apparently full of self importance, had much to say respecting his having been at Bathurst, how Englishmen did when men were brought before a magistrate, how the land “all about” belonged to the natives, and that I was not to mind. I had already learnt that many of these were wild natives, and had come from a distance of 100 miles.

Ibbai Waggan-Wiradjuri People have commissioned a number of studies based on the Wiradjuri Nation, lore, custom and connections to Ngurangbang through our genealogy and Apical ancestors. Objective to reinforce respect to land, traditional ways, lore and recognition to the defined Main & Kinship family groups connection within the identified Ibbai Waggan People tribal boundaries.

Our Cultural Knowledge will be the way forward to introduce a reform model to Govern our Ngurangbang.

We have not Ceded Sovereignty or Proprietary Rights over Ngurangbang
